River waters were rushing across the beach into the stormy sea. Their colours contrasting with the smooth sand as they slowly washed it away. I took this opportunity to capture the scene unfolding before me. I set up my tripod next to the fast flowing river and took a 1 sec exposure to capture the beauty in the movement and colour of the water. I was fascinated how quickly the edge of the sand kept falling into the torrent and nearly lost my tripod as a result. The image was taken in September in Cornwall.

This image was captured at Scarista Beach, Stornoway. The weather was very unsettled and constantly changing with strong winds sweeping across the bay as I gazed towards the distant mountains. As I framed my composition a black storm cloud approached, contrasting with the soft light on the white peaked waves. As the drama unfolded in front of me dark streaks of heavy rain swept across the sky.
